The UEE20111 – Certificate II in Air Conditioning and Heat Pump Systems is an air conditioning course for electricians, 3rd and 4th year electrical apprentices and other licensed trades who want to formalise their existing skills into qualifications or to branch out into a growing area of demand to install split systems for heating.
Get Skilled Training’s split system course in Hobart and other locations on demand in Tasmania complies with current ARC licensing requirements to obtain a Refrigerant Handling Licence.
Our Hobart air conditioning course includes wall hung, floor and ceiling suspended, cassette and ducted fan coil systems and water heating heat pump systems.
This split systems installation course excludes competencies required for service, repair, maintenance, diagnostic/fault finding and electrical work or the safe and proper installation of commercial refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump plant and equipment.
To be able to undertake one of our air conditioning courses, you must satisfy one of the following prerequisites:
For Electricians – Electrical Work Licence
For 3rd and 4th Electrical Apprentices – Who have Successful completion of the required units of competency outlined in the first year of an electrotechnology apprenticeship, and have at least two years of industry experience
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is offered to non-electrical workers who wish to undertake this course who have a trade qualification in the following trades

2 Days of Practical Training and Assessment* with an online theory component
*Please note – The number of days of face to face practical training and assessment is determined for each individual learner based on a pre-screening assessment and how each person meets the pre-requisite requirements. For those who do not meet all the pre-requisites or require further training as determined during the pre-screening by your assessor, there may be additional face to face training (Up to 40 Hours) or workplace learning in the industry (Up to 120 hours) to meet the volume of learning for this qualification.
Students have up to 12 months from the date of enrolment to complete this qualification.
Successful completion of the Get Skilled Training’s air conditioning course in Hobart or at one of our other training locations across Tasmania will satisfy the requirements of the ARC to apply for a restricted Refrigerant Handling License.
This licence is known as the Restricted Split System Air-conditioning Installation and Decommissioning Licence.
On completion of this air conditioning course at one of our delivery locations, you may undertake further studies including a Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (UEE32211) or other qualifications listed in the UEE11 Training Package.

Non-electrical workers who require prerequisites for this course, will also have to satisfy the below units of competency through recognition of prior learning:
UEENEEE101A: Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
UEENEEE102A: Fabricate, assemble and dismantle utilities industry components
UEENEEE105A: Fix and secure electrotechnology equipment
UEENEEE107A: Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications
UEENEEE137A: Document and apply measures to control OHS risks associated with electrotechnology work
