- Apply for a Training Permit with the QLD Electrical Safety Office (ESO).
- Receive an email from the ESO with your Permit Approval.

Receive your Statement of Attainment
- Once all online theory and practical assessments have been completed. A Statement of Attainment for all units of competency achieved will be issued
Apply for a Restricted Electrical Licence with the Electrical Safety Office (ESO)
- Students are required to sign and email Get Skilled Training Form 39 - This will be included in your completion email
- Apply for the Electrical Licence through the ESO website

Appliance Servicing and Repair
Appliance Servicing and Repair Technicians who are required to undertake incidental electrical work within the scope of their trade for work with electrical appliances may be eligible to undertake this restricted electrical licence course and up-skill with Get Skilled Training.
This can be achieved by competing one of Get Skilled Training restricted electrical licencing training programs skillsets which are tailored to meet your trade requirements.
All courses require students to complete a mandatory occupational health and safety unit of competency UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace. Students may be eligible for Recognition of prior learning (RPL) for this unit.
Eligibility Requirements
- Training Permit with Electrical Safety Office QLD (ESO) – Required before to undertaking practical course
- Employer Support Letter – Required (Statutory declaration if self-employed)

- UEE32120 – Certificate III in Appliance Service, or
- A letter from your employer outlining the need for an restricted electrical licence, and

Logbooks
May be required depending on your level of competency, employer and ESO requirements. For students who are required to a complete logbook, this can be completed in a simulated workplace environment at a Get Skilled Training venue or in the student’s workplace under the supervision of a licenced electrical worker using an established workplace procedure documented on our online learning management system.

Workers with Occupational Requirement
Workers who require a restricted electrical licence to undertake incidental electrical work within the scope of their work with specific electrical equipment may be eligible to undertake this restricted electrical licence course and up-skill with Get Skilled Training if they have 3 years of experience in servicing and repairing equipment.
This can be achieved by competing one of Get Skilled Training restricted electrical licencing training programs skillsets which are tailored to meet your trade requirements.
All courses require students to complete a mandatory occupational health and safety unit of competency UEECD0007 Apply work health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace. Students may be eligible for Recognition of prior learning (RPL) for this unit.

Foundation Skills and Competency Requirments
All students are required to demonstrate prior to enrolment with Get Skilled Training(GST) they have the required foundation skills, and in some cases pre-requisite competencies or work experience needed to successfully a course. This may require some applicants to undertake an evaluation to determine if they meet the requirements associated with Learning, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital Literacy (LLND).
Student Device Requirement
To complete your training, you will need a device such as a computer, tablet, or smartphone with a reliable internet connection. Get Skilled Training does not provide laptops, computers, tablets, or mobile devices.
Your device is required to complete online learning, sit assessments, verify your identity, and upload photo or video evidence. Without suitable access, your training progress may be delayed.
Queensland Funding - CSQ
Queensland Course Funding
Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) is an independent, not-for-profit, industry-funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices, trainees and career seekers in the building and construction industry.
If you’re considering upskilling in construction, you may be able to receive support from CSQ funding. Where CSQ funding doesn’t cover the full cost of the program, you will be required to contribute towards the remaining course fees.

Short Courses
Short courses are individual competencies and skillsets designed for workers wanting to update their skills and knowledge, meet compliance
requirements, get a license, or diversify their skills.
The CSQ Short Courses program provides funding to assist with upskilling and cross-skilling workers in the building and construction industry throughout Queensland.

Funding Eligibility
To be eligible for CSQ Funding, you must meet the following eligibility requirements and provide the necessary documentation in the table below to substantiate your eligibility.
A Participant Must Be:
- An Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident; or a Participant who has the right to work and study in Australia on a VISA prescribed by CSQ and has been employed in the Building and Construction Industry for a period of 6 months or more
- A Participant who has the right to work in Australia on a valid VISA prescribed by Construction Skills Queensland and has been employed in the Building and Construction Industry for a period of 6 months or more, and is
- A Participant who is aged 15 years or older
- An Eligible Worker* in Queensland, or is
- An unemployed Eligible Worker** who has been unemployed for a period not greater than 6 months in Queensland
*An Eligible Worker is someone who is an employee or Self-employed worker, who can demonstrate primary and substantial direct involvement in the:
- Queensland Building and Construction Industry doing:
- construction, significant renovations and extensions of, residential and commercial buildings
- installation services for interiors of residential and commercial buildings in associated trades; electrical, plumbing, flooring etc.
- works on a major infrastructure project
- The Queensland Civil Construction industry doing:
- land development and site preparation for the purpose of construction
- works for civil infrastructure
- works on a major infrastructure project
**An Unemployed Eligible Worker is a person who has been unemployed for a period of not greater than 6 months in Queensland, that would otherwise meet the requirements of an Eligible Worker.
Please note that all eligible students will be required to complete their course before September 30, 2026, to receive funding.
A Participant Must Not Be:
- Be undertaking the training as part of an apprenticeship or traineeship
- An Employee of an Authority
- Currently enrolled and participating in a Queensland secondary school program
- A contracted trainer or assessor or existing worker of an RTO
- Funded by an Authority or such other source for delivery of the same training being undertaken as part of this Program
- Funded for more than eight (8) Short Courses under this Program (either in Building Specific and/or Civil Specific) in the same Program period
- Funded for more than three (3) high risk work (HRW) Units of Competency (excluding Asbestos Units of Competency) in the same Program period
- A Participant seeking a Verification of Competency
- Have previously completed he Unit/’s of Competency
- Be an International Student

Wellbeing Support, Cultural Safety and Inclusion Information
Training and Wellbeing Support Provided By Get Skilled Training
Students whilst enrolling with our Registered Training Organisation (RTO) will have the opportunity to indicate if they require support associated with training and assessment. Furthermore, students can indicate if they require wellbeing support should they require it.
Any requests for support will be treated confidentially. Where the RTO does not have the resources or skills to provide a specific support service, the student will be provided with information on where they can access support.
